Evelynn's Fairy Party - 5th Birthday

Evelynn's Fairy party has been a work in progress for the last several weeks, although we decided on the theme at the start of the year. We wanted something cute and girly and that she would love and remember for years to come. I do not do parties every year, so I figured it was ok to go all out on this one. I gave Eva 3 suggestions and asked which she liked best, and Fairies was her pick.
Our first step was to scour the internet (especially Pinterest) to gather ideas of the types of things used there. We noticed garden parties or woodland parties and leaned in the direction of flowers and moss rather than moss and toadstool mushrooms.

As the day approached, I reached out to my mother-in-law to see if I could borrow any cute decor she had. Thankfully she said yes, and my sister-in-law happened to be driving by the next weekend so she could bring the stuff down to us (all of our family is in Idaho).

The highlight of this decor was these two gorgeous lanterns.

The week before the party I made some adorable golden fairies to go inside the lanterns.

Next I looked on my beloved Amazon and found some cute moss and flower decor. I purchased a moss table runner  that I got several compliments on, as well as two flower garland(s). I bought some moss rocks (link is similar to the fake ones I bought) at Dollar Tree, as well as some preserved moss sheets (similar) from Walmart that was used to cover some cans to make holders for pixie sticks and forks, as seen below.

A few other purchase from Amazon included a flower crown for Evelynn, a wood cake holder, and fairy cupcake toppers

Next I figured out what we wanted in our gift bags and looked in to fairy wings for each child as well as flower crowns for each girl and a little animal lizard friend for each boy. Then we came up with some little ideas for our gift bags:

Girls

Boys

We had just a couple games that we played since we were at a Park the entire time. The playground had quite the allure for the kids. Because of that, I wasn't' able to grab pictures of them playing but it looked like they all had fun!

Games
  • Fairy Treasure Hunt - (sprinkle "treasures" of stones and bells and other fairy-like trinkets on the grass and have the kids find them and keep them)
  • Fairy Relay - (2 teams with 2 different colored sheets of paper they have to hop on around a flower to see which team finished first)
  • Find Your Fairy Name - (all you need are name tags and a list of fairy names for first and last names starting with each alphabet letter)
  • I Believe in Fairies Fairy Tag - (freeze tag except that the "it" person gets a fairy wand and when someone untags them, they both must clap their hands and say "i believe in fairies" before being unfrozen)

For food we kept it light because the party was 2 - 4 pm.

We had punch and water labeled "fairy fizz" and "morning dew"

 Cupcakes

As well as fresh berries and pretzels labelled "twigs" on the side

We saved presents for last before a little bit more playground/game time.

Thank you to everyone that came and/or helped with the party! Evelynn felt so special and loved and woke up this morning talking about all her friends that came and excitedly playing with all of her presents.
