November

Hello friends! You might have noticed my absence... for about a month. Well, you have a little girl named Evelynn to thank for that one. About two weeks after my last post she got ahold of my phone and somehow wiped the memory on the ENTIRE THING. I think she did a factory reset... which cleared off the SD card as well.  So if you're wondering what that meant for the two week's worth of adorable pictures and videos I had accumulated, well, it meant they no longer exist. So the blog updated had to wait until I had captured a sufficient amount of new pictures to share. There were a few found on my nice camera but I felt that they didn't need a post of their own and could wait until more were found.

First off, I've gotta be honest here. I'm not sure why these pictures were taken. Maybe I just thought she looked too cute to resist? Oh well. These are from the 5th of November.

The 12th  was the 3rd anniversary of our temple sealing. At my request my husband decided that he would take me out to dinner that day. One of my sweet friends came and babysat while we went out. Of course there are no pictures to document it, but it seems I snapped a picture of myself and one of Evelynn on that day, so I might as well share those.

On the 21st of November I pulled out the winter clothes. It was chilly in the morning and we went to Connor's preschool for a book reading and breakfast activity. That afternoon we had friends come play (well, it was more like the girls played while Holly and I cleaned!) and Evelynn made me laugh because she demanded to put on my boots. She even tried walking around in them but those pictures are even more blurry than this one. She wasn't pleased to discover that the boots were too big!

The next day we went to an employee event at Caleb's work. He works at Empire Cat and they were letting employees and their family tour a new building that they just finished and then had a brunch for everyone. They also had two Caterpillar tractors there and the kids were SO excited to climb up and get pictures on it! Can you see the grins?! Especially in the last ones. Keep in mind that our Connor isn't much of a fan of pictures in normal circumstances. I guess tractors can improve the attitude on any little boys!

Connor had a Preschool assignment to decorate a turkey. We had completely forgotten about it until I was about to put him into bed the night before the last day before Thanksgiving break started.
Luckily Daddy helped him quickly decorate and let me snap pictures of it. Connor was so excited!

On Thanksgiving (the 27th) we went to the house of one of Caleb's coworkers for dinner.
Plan was to eat at 5, but when that time rolled around it was discovered that the stove had never been turned on so dinner was pushed back until after 7. We thought it was pretty funny and the kids didn't mind because they got to watch some of their favorite movies and play on the phones and tablet.

We slacked off all of Thanksgiving weekend -- no black friday shopping for us this year, and we haven't even put up Christmas decorations yet either! It's on our to-do list for this weekend though, don't worry.

On the 1st Evelynn got her VERY FIRST HAIRCUT!
I had always intended to just let it grow out, but it was beginning to look kind of funny. There's one little section right at the nap of her neck that was about 2 inches longer than the rest of her hair. It looked fine when her hair was curly, but when she'd slept on her hair and it straightened out it just reminded me of a little rat's tail and I couldn't take it anymore. When haircut day rolled around for Daddy and Brother, she got one little snip at the base of her neck as well. I didn't do as good of a job documenting it as I should have (due to two boys whining about being itchy from all the hair!!) but I did grab one picture of her sitting on Daddy's lap for her cut.

The next day was quite busy and we were out of the house the majority of the day. I really slacked off on the bedtime thing and when I finally came to get her ready for bed after getting her brother asleep I found her curled up in our bed already fast asleep. She had climbed up and tucked herself in apparently without any help. She looked so precious that I just HAD to take a picture.

Yesterday another big adjustment happened for this girl. We were moving around some furniture in our home and Daddy decided it was time to switch the crib to the toddler bed. Evelynn hasn't been sleeping well at night and has been waking up and crying until we get her. I guess Caleb decided it would be easier if she could just come find us. She wasn't thrilled at first and loudly screamed "No, NO, NO!!!!!" at her daddy as she tried to put it back together. I almost told him just to forget it since she was so upset, but then as soon as her brother showed her she could climb up and acted really excited about it, she seemed excited, too. She went to bed without any trouble just like she usually does. When I came in to check on her later she was peacefully sleeping. She did get out of bed and ended up in ours again, but I think its just a phase she's going through and it will hopefully pass soon.
