So, if you can't tell, I've been pretty busy.
Because of that I'm just cramming pictures into this blog and they're not even in chronological order.
Please, please, don't judge me. I've got a whole lot on my plate right now. It shouldn't be that hard to keep a blog updated, I know, but just trust me when I say I've kinda got other priorities right now.
So, here is how our October ended:
A cat came into out house after taking Connor out to wait for his bus. It went running through the house and Caleb had to pick it up and put it outside. Evelynn was SO upset though... she thought she had made a new friend and wanted to keep it! Unfortunately it's name is Princess and it already has a loving family. And also, we don't want to pay a pet deposit. :)
Connor had to decorate a pumpkin for his preschool. They were doing a Pumpkin Walk party the day before Halloween and each student was supposed to decorate a pumpkin.
I was pleasantly surprised when Caleb said he wanted to help decorate Connor's pumpkin, but I didn't argue! Connor was so proud of his pumpkin that his daddy helped him do!
The behind the scenes pic's:
Of course Evelynn wanted to help too, so I let her do her own painting. She had a blast as well!
All week long Connor has been thinking he needs to play video games with daddy for a little while before bed. He used to sit on Caleb's lap when he was a tiny baby while he played games, so I decided it was a "must" to take another pic.
This is a super cute little video of Evelynn dancing. I know you all have seen SO MANY of them, but they just keep getting more and more cute.
Just Eva and I waiting for Connor's bus to bring him home. Evelynn likes to sit on this little wall and get pictures.
Just another little video.
And here's one with Mr Connor in it too. Don't mind when he falls... I felt horrible about having it recorded and sharing it. It's just so rare that he wants in a video or picture that I have to take advantage of it! He wanted to dance, too!
Now, this one has a funny story. Evelynn decided that she REALLY wanted to wear the headphones during one of my class meetings. She was SO proud of herself. Can't ya tell?!?!
My kids seem to have inherited their daddy's love of electronics. I don't get it. But Evelynn found Caleb's older gameboy last week and carried it around all day. She turned it on, opened and closed it; she was so proud of herself. Caleb said it was fine if she played with it. So she pretty much thinks it's her's now.
Last week the kids' favorite friend gave them this Crazy Coupe! They absolutely love it. They fight over it all the time... but occasionally they share, and I love those moments. Since they're few and far between, I've got a pic to document. Yeah, it's blurry, but it's proof!
These video's are of Evelynn making animal sounds and things.
She's pretty proud of herself, and I'm proud of her too! She's been learning a lot of new words and skills lately.
On Friday Connor had a pizza party at school. They have been doing Halloween themed things all week long and they even practiced trick-or-treating with the kids.
Connor made this cute bat hat and came off the bus proudly wearing it!
That afternoon we had an appointment at his ENT's to check how the tubes are in his ears. He also got a hearing test. I was so proud of how well he did! Because of his sensory processing disorder he really hates having his ears checked. He was trying to hard to handle it. The last two times he's had hearing tests they've been inconclusive on the left side because he could only handle getting through the one side before he would meltdown. This time we started on the left, he got through it, and then he even got through the right side! His hearing is perfectly normal! The extra hole in his right side is still there despite attempting to correct it, but the hearing tests showed that he's hearing just fine so we won't be doing anything about it at this point.
We decided to take the kids trick-or-treating at our old ward's trunk-or-treat. The kids were SO excited! Connor even wore his costume. He understood what trick-or-treating was this year and when I told him he had to wear a costume to get the candy he was all for it!
He was a ninja. He didn't wear the piece that went over his head, but I thought he was super cute!
Evelynn was super excited as well. She was a peacock, and she was the cutest one I've ever seen!
Don't you agree?
She wasn't a fan of the picture thing... but I figured grabbing a few was better than nothing!
We picked Daddy up from work and had to run to Auto Zone to buy a part to fix one of the windows in our Jeep that decided to break. The window wouldn't roll up! Leaving windows unrolled 24/7 is just asking for a car to be stolen, expecially here in Arizona that has the highest auto theft in the nation. So needless to say, we had to replace it ASAP. Caleb saved us a nice amount of money by doing it himself. Thanks, hon!
While we waited for him to buy the part, Evelynn was not pleased that we weren't trick-or-treating. I had to take pictures to amuse her. And poor Connor just was exhausted from the many things he'd done already that day, that he feel fast asleep.
When we got to the trunk-or-treat and woke him up he sure was excited, though!
I thought Evelynn might explode from how excited she was.
You may be wondering what I was supposed to be... well, it was my attempt at a deer. My little boy thought I was a kitty though. When he first saw me he got a huge grin on his face and said "CUTE! cute kitty, mommy!" I'll admit I didn't care that he got it wrong because I was so excited at how many words he put together at once. It's huge for him!
Caleb ended up taking Connor around because Connor was so excited and moving so much faster than Evelynn. They lapped us, but that was alright. Caleb said he said "tric-or-treat" to every single person! We were so thrilled because last year he couldn't say it at all. All that practice at preschool really paid off! The kids got plenty of candy and are loving eating it. I'll admit I've hidden it away and took my fair share of "candy tax".
We hope everyone had as fun of a night as we did!
