Beginning December

There's probably no better way to show how our December started than this pic. No words are needed.

Exhausted. Tired. Don't want to. Those would all accurately describe it.

After we got Connor off to Preschool, Evelynn attempted to help me keep her brother from screaming while I started in on final projects for the semester.

They've both been a bit of grumpy-pants lately... so when I had this miracle occur later in the day, I HAD to take a pictures. They both napped!! And at the same time!!!

By evening, this kid screamed hysterically unless he was being held. So as I made dinner, this was my view looking down.

Thankfully he caught up on some sleep, and on the 2nd, he was full of smiles and grins for me!

On the 4th, my Munchkin found hats. He insisted baby brother wear his and sister wear hers, and he demanded he get to wear the red hat he found, which used to be daddy's when he was a kid! He loves it though, and now refuses to wear anything else.

On the 5th we woke up and headed to Farmington for Daddy's work Christmas party. It was at a movie theater, and we had RSVP'd to see The Good Dinosaur. The kids were so excited!

The 6th was Sunday again, and my kids were cuties!

When we got home that afternoon, Liam, Eva, and I helped Caleb get our Christmas lights up outside!

Our cute little girl followed Daddy around the entire time. She would tell him "wait for me, Daddy! Don't leave me!" Even when she got cold and we added another coat and boots, she refused to go inside. She wanted to stay right with her Daddy.

Monday I woke up to seeing Connor make a slide off the changing table. He was so proud of himself. I didn't realize such a skinny little guy like him could carry the mattress himself. He kindly shared the slide with sister.

I admit this baby of ours wasn't near as happy as they were. He's been teething, and has been incredibly grumpy, and he's not afraid to show it!

Evelynn hasn't been sleeping so well at night lately, and I'm always relieved when she takes her naps! That usually only ever happens when she's sick, though. Tuesday brought more naps, which was a welcomed relief, although I hate she doesn't feel well. I managed to get Liam to sleep on the couch for a split 5 minutes that day as well!

On the 8th & 9th the kids helped me set up our new Christmas tree and put the ornaments on it. When I had tried to set up our old tree on Saturday, we saw that half the lights were out and some branches were broken and drooping. Caleb decided we could replace it this year, and I was thrilled about it!

Daddy helped Evelynn & Connor touch the star when it was all done.

On Thursday the 10th Connor woke up with a 101 fever and I had to keep him home from Preschool. He laid around pretty much all day and hardly ate, so I knew he really wasn't feeling well.

On the 11th, this kid woke up with cute smiles! He had a doctor's appointment that afternoon for his 4 month checkup. I will share his stats in the next post!

I took Liam to the doctor and left Connor and Evelynn with Daddy in case he needed to get him to the bus before I was back. Miraculously, Daddy had them ready  in half the time it usually takes me, and sent pictures to prove it.

That night we got to decorate the gingerbread house our boy had been waiting patiently all week to build.

Here were our end results! Daddy was the master Architect and Decorator. The kids were expert helpers. I was... a great photographer! ;-)

An hour or two after we finished the gingerbread house, I was cleaning and realized I really wasn't feeling so well. My throat and head started hurting. I never checked my temp, but I decided it was time to get the kids in bed so I could go to bed. When I put Evelynn to bed, I felt her burning up. I checked her temp and she was at 101. I guess big brother shared his germs! :-(

The next morning she woke up with a 102 temperature and I felt horrible, and to top things off, Liam was warm and sick as well!

It wasn't exciting, but I didn't let it interfere with my plans for the day. Caleb went off to the store to do some Christmas shopping, and I stayed home and did the kids' Christmas pictures and Liam's 5 month pictures, which will be featured in a post of their own.

Shortly after finishing, I took down the backdrop and came downstairs to see our girl fast asleep. I guess 30 minutes of pictures taking was too much for her!

I kept everyone including myself home from church on Sunday to avoid spreading our icky sicky germs. The kids were cheered up by their Daddy setting up their Christmas train around the tree!

The rest of the time was spent snuggling this little guy, and watching my other sweet kids play.

There was talk of A LOT of snow on Sunday night, so on Monday the kids were thrilled to wake up to this sight! Caleb had a two hour delay getting to work because of the roads. We only had a couple days between Thanksgiving's snow melting off all the way and this new stuff appearing.

Since I had my camera this time, I took the kids out and got pictures of them playing!
After our Thanksgiving snow, I realized the kids probably needed snow gloves and pants and boots to play in the snow, so on Cyber Monday I had sat down and made sure they were prepped for winter play. They were much warmer this time, and had so much fun!!!

And don't worry, Liam wasn't forgotten either. He just slept through it, and it's hard to take pics of yourself holding a baby in a carrier! I took one layer off of him before taking this picture, though. I don't think he was too cold, (or too warm either) because he slept GOOD outside and even after we came in.

By that afternoon we had several inches of snow built up on the fences and everywhere.

Connor was thrilled about getting to stomp around in the snow on Tuesday while we waited for the bus. You can see the drifts they were walking through were practically at Evelynn's knees. The bus driver said it's obvious my kids are from Arizona, because they act like snow it the coolest thing they've ever seen, and there are never complaints about being wet or cold after running through it in school clothes. Haha!

I'm happy to say that yesterday (Wednesday) I finished my last assignment for the semester. Now I have three weeks to play until Winter semester starts up! I'm planning to spend my time prepping for our visit to Idaho, since we will be going for the holidays, and wrapping all the presents I have been procrastinating on. And I'll probably throw in quite a bit of cleaning.
