February

In the past few weeks school has been keeping me extremely busy -- thus the lack of blog updates. Those who follow my Instagram probably aren't behind on anything, and I've been trying to txt my mom updates of cute pictures occasionally, so hopefully that means we're not too missed by anyone.

We ended out January pretty well, the usual taking each day at a time throughout the week, then when Friday comes around and Daddy is home, we clean, clean, clean.

On the 25th, the kids enjoyed some playing in the snow.

On the 27th, it was a cleaning day, even though it wasn't a Friday. I just was needing some cleaning done for the sake of my sanity. :)

On the 28th, I was pretty stressed because it was my first day doing a presentation for one of my classes. Evelynn helped me to snap some "I'm SUPER excited for this [instert sarcasm] pics!" Of course the ones with her were cute enough to be Insta-worthy, which also means blog-worthy by default.

After Preschool was done, Connor insisted he needed 10 minutes to play outside in the snow. He LOVES the snow. So, I snapped a picture of Liam sleeping away, and patinetly waited until his 10 minutes were up. Fevers and sniffles were going on, espeically with out littlest.

As soon as we walked in the door, Connor announced  now he needed hot chocolate to get warm, so he and his sister got to enjoy a cup of hot cocoa!

Unfortunately the next day we had a little litttle baby. He was teething, which didn't help the cold.

Poor kid was so worn out the next few days that he fell asleep in his jumperoo.

On the 3rd of February, Evelynn was fighting off a cold. She was so exhasted she fell asleep face down with half her body hanging off her daddy's desk. It was rather amusing, so I snapped a picture to show Caleb.

The 5th was my birthday! We had a pretty low-key day, starting with Parent/Teacher conferences for our Connor Munchkin. We are so glad he's doing well in Preschool!

The kids helped me do some cleaning later, and I insisted on some pics. We waited til the following day to do the real celebrating, but Daddy did go to the store and Costco and bought a black tie mousse cake from Costco that we did for a birthday.

We also got our taxes filled, which we were really excited to find out if we would be getting a nice amount back or not.

 Happy Birthday to me!

The next evening, my wonderful cousin and her husband brought their kids over and watched our little ones so Caleb and I could go out on a date. Our last REAL date was right before Liam was born. It was a much needed evening out. We went out to dinner at Olive garden, which is my absolute favorite.

On the 7th, I decided we needed to document Evelynn's first real french braid! She was really excited about her hair looking so pretty, although she didn't enjoy sitting still for even the minute it took.

Over the weekend, our little Liam took his crawling attempts to the next level. It kinda broke this momma's heart!

One little Liam loves fuzzy blankies. If he finds his brother's on the floor, he will roll around in them and rub his face on them. Wonder where he gets that? Haha!

On the 8th, Liam and I fell on our faces. Certain children of mine had throw toys down the stairs and left them right at the bottom, inside the front door. When we came inside from the school bus with Connor, Connor threw a hand full of snow inside. I told him that after I ran upstairs to change his brother, he was going to need to clean it up and clean up the toys. I spoke to soon, because immediately after, the mixture of melted snow and hotwheels cars sent me falling. I gashed my foot up pretty well, and was afraid I might have broken my toe. The worst of it was that I had been holding Liam! I caught most of the fall on my arm, but I guess his face hit a little toy box as we went down and he got a big bruise on his cheek the next day. :(

One the morning of the 11th, I woke up to Liam like this. He was fast asleep, but I was so amused by his escaped leg and hand positioned like that.

Later that day I was so excited because... I applied for graduation! It was just for my associates degree, but I am still extremely proud of myself. It's not easy to go to school with 3 little ones at home, but I'm determined to finish. Just another 2 years before my Bachelors! I've decided to wait to walk until then, so I'll just be getting my Associates in the mail. But still-- what a thrill!

On the 12th, Daddy came out to the bus with us because it was a Friday, which is a day off!

this picture I snapped just to snow how much Liam loves to sit with his daddy while he plays games. Liam will even grab the keyboard and run his fingers over the keys sometimes. I think he's a pretty observant kid!

On Valentines day, the kids all got baths before church. I put Liam in his crib in the attempt to get him to take a nap, but it didn't go so well because his brother decided he needed to climb in and "nap" as well. Can I insert an eyeroll here?!

After church, I had Caleb grab a picture of me and the kids. I had coordinated out clothes, so I felt it was necessary. It was so nice though because I walked in the door to Caleb pulling food out of the oven.

He had completely surprised me with dinner, so the kids and I made him the dessert we had planned, that HE hadn't known about. We like to call it a faux cheesecake, or a 5 minute cheesecake. Caleb loves it. My Grandma Durrant taught me to make it when I needed a presentation for a class back in old Skyview Highschool days. Evelynn helped me add a chocolate heart, too.

On the 18th, the kids and I woke up to rain. We could even here thunder a lot of the morning. We were surprised when we opened the door and saw snow coming down instead of rain. In just the coupe minutes it takes to walk down the lane to the bus stop, my kiddos were accumulating snow on them. the kids were thrilled about the snow prints that were being made.

The next day was the polar opposite of weather. Connor insisted it was "hot" outside and didn't want to wear a coat. He wanted to be like Daddy. Haha!

After Connor came home from Preschool, we set off on the exciting task of buying Daddy a new car! For the second year in a row, we decided our tax return should go towards a car. We felt like we had reached a point were one car in the family was too difficult, especially when Daddy leaves for work at 4:30 am, and doesn't get home until after 7:30 pm. We had done some browsing online for used cars, and after a couple stops we found something Caleb thought would work well. We needed it to be reliable enough that he could use it for commuting to and from his carpool in Kaysville every day, and something that would get decent mileage and last.

The end result was a 2005 Ford Focus. And we were quite proud of Daddy for talking a good deal out of it. : ) I can say I am THRILLED we are no longer a one car family!
I will see if I can get some pictures soon.

I might also add that Thursday evening I came down with a horrible cold. All Friday I. felt. HORRIBLE. My voice was going out, and by that night it was gone. All yesterday I couldn't talk above a whisper, and today it's not much better.

Yesterday (Saturday) we also went and got two new carseats. I have been wanting all 3 kids on one row, but the carseat I had picked out for Evelynn back  hen she was a baby is/was ginormous! We had been told about Babies R Us's trade-in deal where you trade in your old carseat and get 25% off a new one, so we figured it was time to trade in the baby carseat that will expire soon that we are fine with Liam being moved out of, and get something less space-consuming for Evelynn as well.

We found some that work great with Connors's and fit well together 3 across in our Journey, and now all three kids are on one row! Unfortunately, I think the two we bought are hideous, and I don't know who in their right mind would design them that color, but it is what it is. My kids are safe, and all on one row!

Hopefully I will start being able to update the blog more!
