May + Idaho Trip + Memorial Weekend

Friday afternoon we headed up to Idaho. There was a ton of traffic, which I guess can be expected since it was the start of Memorial Day Weekend.

We stopped in Meridian to visit with one of my best friends and got into Meridian a little before 5. When we got into town we grabbed Wendy's to eat since my parents were at the store and were headed camping that night. After they got back, we went over to Deanna's to hangout for a bit and help her get a Grill.

The next morning when we woke up were were hanging out with my brother who was also in town. I laughed when our climbing baby got himself into some trouble with the stools! I guess I'm one of those moms who stops to grab a picture when my child gets himself into a mess... I assure you he was perfectly fine though, just angry and frustrated he got stuck.

Later that afternoon we headed to Boise to go to a Gender Reveal party for Caleb's brother and sister-in-law. We were sure it was a girl, but we were wrong! On Friday night I asked Evelynn and Connor and Connor said Boy, and Evelynn (who had previously thought girl) was adamant it was a boy. Sometimes kids just know stuff. I guess we should have listened to them!

On our way back to Nampa I had Caleb take us past the house I grew up in and showed the kids were Mommy lived when she was a little girl! Then we browsed through houses a bit as I attempted to convince Caleb that Meridian/Boise would be a good area for our kids to grow up in.

We went to Deanna that evening for a BBQ. The kids and Caleb got to stay and hangout while I went and helped my sister with some family pictures.

Sunday the kids and I woke up and went to church with my parents. Then we got to eat a delicious dinner with them and Melinda's family. Yummy!

I helped my mom do some food prep and while we were doing fruit salad, this baby of mine pulled the pineapple out of the trash and started eating it! Obviously I'm not a first-time mom, because I just let him enjoy himself rather than freaking out about it. Haha!

Later my sister and I had my parents fill us in on all the family events that will be happening this summer and kind of do a family council planning meeting. I had really wanted to take a walk because my kids (especially Connor) were really high-strung at that point. Thankfully Liam fell asleep, so I laid him down on his already sleeping daddy and didn't have to worry about carrying anyone on our little walk.

That evening we decided to go with my parents to my Durrant grandparents' graves in Kuna and leave flowers. I had Caleb do some pictures just like we'd done with his grandparents.

The next morning we got up and went out to Sandy Point at Lucky Peak! We had done it last year and the kids had a blast so we decided to do a repeat and maybe make a tradition of it.
It was pretty windy and a little cooler than we had anticipated, but that didn't stop the fun! We were able to have both my brothers come, and it was great!

The kids, of course, were quick to head down to the sand and water and play. My kiddos were so excited, I couldn't even get them to look at me for a picture! None of them!

Of course my kids were quick to demand their "floaties" on, even though they didn't want to be in the water. I decided to indulge them.

Uncle Joe took Connor out in the water a bit until he felt too cold. But what a great Uncle, right?!

Liam was quite fascinated by the sand, and I could NOT call myself a mother without snapping pictures of this adorable little moment when he decided to stick his head in the sand! Oh how I wish I could add an emoticon face in here. *Laughing so hard I'm crying!*
Yeah... they all got baths when they got home. No worries!

My sister was super sweet and snapped some pictures for us.

I'll admit that I spent most of the time snapping pictures of people. They kinda speak for themselves: Enjoy!

My kids were really the highlight of my picture taking:

While I was busily taking pictures, my dad and brother were making food for us. Grandma was of course holding her newest grandchild (covered up by towels so that he wouldn't be too bothered by the wind!)

My littlest wasn't too thrilled when we put Grandma's hat on him. How cute is he, though?! He kept pushing it off his head, all the while keeping that adorable fishy face!

My parents had to hurry and eat to get my brothers back in time for Joseph to get to work and Michael to get ready to head back to school. Melinda's family and our family stuck around. We got to watch out kiddos chase geese and seagulls.

After we headed back home, bathed kids, did what we needed to, my mom and sister and I went and saw a movie. We saw My Big Fat Greek Wedding 2, which we actually thought was pretty good. After we got home Caleb and I took the kids over to his dad's for a BBQ. The kids had a lot of fun! We ended the night by heading to Melinda and Mitchell's house and letting the guys go see a movie while Melinda and I hung out a bit before getting the kids home and in bed.

We had to head home the next afternoon, but we had such an amazing time with our families!!
