August

I don't know about you guys, but for us, August went by in a blur. Summer was gone all-too quickly, but at least for our family, we were ready for it to end.

The month started off with the end of swimming lessons which I blogged about in the July month since it seemed silly to split them up. So if you missed it and are super curious, take a look there.

On the 4th my cousin brought her kids up from Saratoga Springs for a splashpad playdate. We always have so much fun with them, so it doesn't even require me to say "we had a blast" for you to know it.

The next day (Saturday) we did a family swim day at the local Aquatic Center.
The fam wasn't so thrilled about pictures, but they love me, so they placated me.

We took periodic breaks from the swimming and I attempted to grab more pictures.

When it was time to leave, Liam started to freak out because he didn't have a shirt to put on (Evelynn put her dress on over her swimsuit, Caleb put a shirt on, I was putting a shirt and shorts on) and he insisted on wearing my shirt. He ran around in it a few minutes before I took it, and by then he was happy.

We had been sitting by a little hill and the boys were excitedly rolling down it while I dried off. Connor was very adamant that they needed a picture.

Liam and I caught ourselves a horrible cold at about this point. It wore our poor kiddo out! He was sitting by my one second, and the next, he was out like a rock.

Back in July my in-laws brought us some furniture, one of which included this great hutch- cabinet. We decided it would be perfect for storing toys in the kids room. I was putting toys away in it when I felt a sharp pinch on my thumb, and looked down to see a ginormous sliver spearing through me.
It didn't go through a lot of skin, but it did bleed a lot and I had to have Caleb pull it out because I was so shocked by it.

The following day (August 8th) was Evelynn's last day of summer dance/tumbling.

We were quite happy with her progress during tumbling. She could do her backbends all by herself by the end.

I grabbed a couple of cute videos of her to share!

These brothers were troopers all summer sitting through two hours worth of girly classes a week!

If you keep up with our little family blog, you know that we did our California Trip the 9th - 13th which you can read about in our last post.

On the 17th we went to Connor's Back to School Night, although no pictures were taken.

Saturday the 19th we got to go to the annual Stratford Swim Party for Caleb's Grandma Anderson's family. We always have such a great time there and really enjoy living close enough to get to participate in these family gatherings.

On the 21st  it was the day of the Solar Eclipse. We chose to stay at home so we only saw a partial, but we still wanted to make sure the kids got to see. We were pretty mad  because we had ordered glasses off Amazon and paid extra for 1 day shipping and then it took over a week and they arrived that evening. Thankfully though, Caleb had a couple coworkers who took pity on us and let him run one home to us so we could see.

The next day was Conno'r first day of school! How big is our 1st grader?!

He was a little nervous and wanted us to walk him over to his class before school. As soon as we got over there and he saw his teacher though he cheered right up!

These two were pretty thrilled to say bye to their brother for the day, but then half way through the day they were asking when we would pick him up again.

I took these two to the park for a playdate on the  23rd.

Connor's first soccerr game of the season came on the 26th. It was pretty hot outside but the team rocked it!

On the 26th I tried to take these two kids to see a movie... Evelynn had begged to see Leap!. Caleb looked up  a time and then the kids and I headed off. When we got there, we found out that Caleb had sent us to the wrong place. So, we saw the Emoji movie instead.

The next day Connor and Evelynn told me they reallllly wanted to bring scriptures to church. I told them they could take my sciptures and Daddy's if they'd be careful. They were so excited!

Monday brought the first day of Preschool for Evelynn! She was so excited that I couldn't even be sad and miss her.

When we picked her up, she was sooo happy still!

I snatched these pictures from Facebook where the teacher had shared them.

On the 29th I got a super fun little visit from my dearest childhood friend and her boyfriend!
