I wish this had a more creative title...

Earlier this week my mom let me know that she check the blog and i had NOT updated it! i told her she was right, and yes, it's time for an update. so here it is!

First of all, last Saturday i went to the baby shower of one of my Dad's cousins that lives down here in Arizona. I was invited by another cousin, and i was sooo glad she thought to ask me and even give me a ride! I had a ton of fun. The wonderful host (who is also another cousin) is fabulously talented and took some pictures of my little man while we were all hanging out afterwards! They were too cute not to share! and on a side note, i apologize if it's confusing that i just referred to three different people as my dad's cousins...i promise i do know their names and where they belong on the family tree, i just didn't want to splatter their names all over the internet uninvited! i have a lot of family. :) But if you love the pictures and want to know who to give the credit to, just ask and i'll share her name. i think they are so cute! and considering this was a spur of the moment thing, she's quite talented! he was so fascinated by those trucks he hardly looked up!

A few weeks ago Daddy got a new phone. His died and he waited patiently until we had our tax return so he could get whichever he wanted. I rolled my eyes at his choice, but he chose the Samsung Galaxy Note II. at least i think that's what it's called. but anyways, the screen is ginormous, so Connor is quite fascinated with playing games on it. His favorite is a game called baby balloons, where you pop balloons by tapping on them with your finger. they move all over the screen so it's quite good for hand/eye coordination! and sometimes he even pops them with his nose. that takes some skill!

Connor thinks that if he looks cute enough all snuggled up in mom and dad's bed, then he will get to sleep in it.  it makes me laugh every time. i tell him it's time to get ready for bed and he goes running in there and climbs under the covers and pretends to be asleep!

I'm quite devoted to sharing Connor's mischievous stories on here...and lately i've been great and capturing a picture. the other day i was sitting on the couch and he went into the kitchen. i figured he was getting into the fridge, but when i heard the sound of liquid being poured into the glass i ran in there as fast as i could, expecting to see whatever it was, all over the ground...imagine my surprise when i saw that most of the milk actually made it into the glass! the jug was over half full at the time so i was pretty shocked he did so well! i of course wasn't pleased, but i did get a laugh out when he insisted on getting out the chocolate syrup next and pouring some into the glass of milk and stirring it. he seems to think he's big enough that he doesn't need ANYONE'S help EVER!  grrrrr.

Ever since this last weekend Connor has been acting "off", and i was suspecting an ear infection. He was very restless every night and would come into our room between 1 and 3 and climb into bed where he would toss and turn the remainder of the night. then he was falling asleep in the early afternoon, which he NEVER does, and was often still taking  his normal nap after lunch. Lunch was really the only meal i could get him to eat more than two bites of, and only if it was mac&cheese. usually when that happens, it's an ear infection.
Daddy had Drill this weekend and was gone all three days, and Connor missed him alot. Part of me tried to say that that was the real reason for his strange behavior and it just couldn't be another ear infection when his last one was only a little more than a month ago. But Sunday he developed a fever and was quite sad and clingy. it broke my heart! the only smiles i got out of him where when we took a picture for Daddy!

Even though i was pretty sure it was an ear infection after that, i didn't call his Doctor until yesterday. I wanted to be sure, but it's so hard when he's such a sweet natured boy! i didn't want to be the paranoid mom. he messed with his ears only a little bit, he's never been much of an ear puller when he has an ear infection, so the obvious symptoms never show with him. and he didn't have his usual snotty nose and sneezing which is another of my clue-in's that he once again got an ear infection. He started to become very clingy, so we called his Doctor and then asked Daddy to get off work early so we could take him in. It didn't take long at all for the Doctor to confirm that yes, he has another double ear infection. :( after that he started to get all sneezy and snotty, so if we hadn't taken him in yesterday i would have called and taken him today. We had a miserable night and he coughed and coughed and sneezed and tossed and turned. We let him sleep in our bed because he was so miserable. He remembers his medicine from the previous times, and hates it, so he runs as soon as he sees me pick it up. then i have to pin him down to get it in his mouth, but he has been spitting it back out at me. he's never done that before, so i may have to call his doctor and ask what to do! i don't think he's getting much at all, and definitely not the dosage he's supposed to be taking!!! it's no fun, but we just want him to feel better!

I am still quite obsessed with my headband making. in the rare times i'm actually sleeping at night i've been dreaming about lists of ones i want to make! Caleb said it's becoming a bit of a ridiculous obsession. i just can't help it. Nesting has been hitting hard and i always clean the house before making one or two new ones! i feel like they are improving, and i'm still having alot of fun with it! Here are a few of my newest ones:

Yesterday when we were waiting in line at the Pharmacy to pick up Connor's prescription i had my very first experience with an uninvited belly rub! a lady in front of my started chatting with me about Connor (he was screaming and wanting daddy to hold him), and then all the sudden her hands were rubbing my belly!!! i was so stunned i didn't even know how to react and decided to just stick my hand on there too,  hoping it would make her feel awkward and crowd her out. it worked. when she stopped i kept both my hands resting on my tummy to send the message that she better not try that one again! she was a very nice lady, but hey, i have quite a big space bubble! and there really aren't that many people i'm comfortable with rubbing my tummy without asking!!! i had to take a picture (or three) of this 34-week belly that is apparently so tempting that even complete strangers can't resist rubbing it! it was quite a weird experience that i'm hoping to NOT repeat!
