Juily started off well. Here's some of what we have been up to, excluding the 4th... that gets it's own post.
I try to make playdough for the kids in Nursery and this last time, I decided to make some to keep at home for the kids. When I first told Connor we were going to do playdough, he told me "NO!" very clearly. He was not interested in it until I sat down and started playing it with Evelynn. It was only after that, that it became "cool". We practiced all of the alphabet and the numbers 1-10. I would make them out of the playdough, then Connor would tell me what it was. He is very good at it, and I will admit he does a great job for barely being 3! He isn't very verbal, but he's smart. There's only a couple letters he gets confused on.
On Wednesday, the 2nd, I decided that I wanted to do a project. I have seen these super cute mommy and me dresses, and I wanted to do one for Evelynn and I. I also needed something to keep myself distracted from being homesick. So, I started my project, and I think it turned out pretty cute. I made Evelynn's the size up though because she already has too many dresses in her current size, and i didn't want to waste any of them. So we won't be wearing these dresses for a little while. But, I still think they turned out cute. I haven't hemmed them yet either, but since that's a relatively easy step, I'm ok waiting on it for a little while.
I also made Evelynn some super cute little bows. They were the easiest, quickest, cheapest hair items I have ever made Evelynn before. And they're CUTE! - Atleast that's my opinion.
Also on the 2nd I decided to try ponytail's in Evleynn's hair again, because it seems to be growing again. (Yay!) She wasn't particularly impressed, but I thought it was pretty cute -- cute enough to take pictures of!
And as usual, a picture of the side of Connor's head. He gets mad when I take pictures, but I hate making it seem like I only like pictures of Evelynn. :( I promise I love him, too!
During our weekly Zumba, Connor rode in Lily's super cool car. My kids seem to think she has the coolest toys.
After I got the kids dressed I decided to snap a picture of Evelynn and I, (since I usually take a selfie of us on Sundays) and then of course, I had to take another because she started clapping at the mention of the word pretty. She's got so much personality!
I decided to try again with pictures in a different area, and then I laughed because she made a kissy face at the camera. So then I tried to do a kissy face with her, but she wasn't interested. So then I just decided to give her a big kiss.
After that, she gave me the sweetest little hug. I asked Connor if he wanted a hug too, but he wasn't interested in coming near me as long as the camera was pointed towards him.
And some cute pictures on my nice camera, instead of my phone:
This is her glare face; it cracks us up every time:
As I've mentioned before, Caleb and I are in the Nursery at Church. There's usually quite a few kids, but yesterday there were only 7 of them! It was great!
Evelynn took a nice long turn on the rocking horse, while holding on to two other horses in her hands.
As I put Evelynn to bed last night, she didn't want to go in her crib. She just wanted to lay by me on the bed. She fell asleep right away there, so I didn't think it was that big of a deal. I then got a little laugh because Connor comes in to give her good night kisses, sees her baby doll on the floor, picks it up, and gives it to her, and then leaves. He's such a sweet kid!
Now for the big news for me:
Today I started the beachbody 21 Day Fix Program!
It may sound extreme, but it's really not. It has a great nutritional element to it that teach healthy portioning of healthy foods while incorporating 30 minutes of exercise each day.
I'm really excited about it because I've been working on losing baby weight since February, but it's just not happening like I want it to. I was back to pre-pregnancy weight quickly after Connor was born, but it's not working the same after Evelynn. I usually work out 5-6 days a week for 20-30 minutes and I hoped it would be enough, but I just gained weight as I gained muscle. It was ok at first because I knew it would come off and I'd feel better than ever, but I gained 10 whole pounds doing it, and it's NOT. COMING. OFF. I have finally decided that nutrition may be the area that needs a makeover, and I may need the structure of a program other than what I'm in the mood for each day. I'm not looking to be crazy skinny, and I honestly don't even want to be as skinny as I was when I first got married; I just want to be at an average, healthy weight, and not 40 lbs over that like where I am stuck at. So, here's hoping that I see some results with this program!
I took some "before" picture yesterday and today so that I can share my progress on the blog.
In three weeks I'll share my progress again.
Wish me luck, folks!
Hope you enjoyed the pictures of the kids. :)
