Ending June

I didn't think I had anything to blog about , then I looked at my camera and my phone pictures and decided that any pictures of my cute kids are worth sharing!

Every Tuesday and Thursday I do Zumba with a friend of mine. We usually swim after it on one day a week, but on the 24th, we had something different planned. We went to the Science Center!
(It's pretty much like the Discovery Center in Boise it seemed like)
At first Connor freaked out and wasn't sure what to think because it was so big and there were so many people there, but then he decided that it was a pretty cool place to be!

In one part of the center there was a cute little play area like a house, with a yard area and things and it was for ages 4 and under. Evelynn particularly enjoyed playing in it!

I think Connor's favorite area was where he could make balls float on air. He had so much fun doing it! He even let his sister help him.

On the 26th after Zumba we did our usual swimming. Poor Connor was NOT thrilled with the experience though. I put his puddle jumper floaties on him that he used to love, and like he recently has done, he freaked out. He was trying to tear them off with his teeth and wanted them OFF of him.
When he decided to head band into the cement I decided it wasn't worth the battle and took it off.
Until that point though, he screamed like someone was trying to kill him. :(

Evelynn, on the other hand, was pleased as punch because she was wearing a new swim suit AND riding her friend Lily's new giraffe! This picture doesn't show her enthusiasm, but I assure you it really was there.

After getting the kids bathed after swim time, Evelynn insisted on wear a pair of skinny jeans she has loved since I bought them for her. I have avoided putting them on her because, honestly, even the thought of wearing jeans in the Arizona summer time makes me feel overheated. But I decided since she had dragged them around for days, pulled them out of her dresser herself, and brought them to me so nicely, she could stay inside with A/C and wear them.

Also, a little note about me. If you know me well, you know I hate baking. And it's not just me... the baking hates me, too. Because it never turns out like it should, I just generally avoid it at all cost. However, I found a recipe on Pinterest for Cinnamon Pull-Apart bread, and I decided I just HAD to give it a try. I will admit that I had to call my sister and ask her how the heck to know if yeast is actually doing it's job... but after some tips and guidance, it turned out to be a success!
Doesn't it look yummy? It's he first time I've EVER baked any kind of bread from scratch on my own.

The following Sunday Evelynn got to wear a new dress I bought for her. I think chevron is just the cutest, so when I saw lace and chevron, and I just had to get it. I think she liked it as much as I did! She also got to wear her new shoes, and one of her "pretties". The only thing she wasn't thrilled about was that darn headband. She wasn't pleased at all that I would be such a cruel mother and insisted she wear it, even when she didn't want to.

On that same Sunday I also decided I would not be lazy with my hair, and I would do something cute with it. I got some compliments on it, so I decided it was cute enough to share.

June ended pretty nicely. We did have our first experience with hives on Evelynn though, and we still have no idea what triggered it. Whether it was an allergic reaction or a virus, we have no idea. But we are glad that she is better now!
