I know i have been a slacker on showing our new apartment. i really intended to have it all clean and unpacked and put together before doing it though. but as you will be able to tell, i gave up on that idea. i just lost all my motivation! so please, don't judge the messiness, and remember i am quite pregnant and chase a toddler around all day :) thanks!
I figured if i showed a picture of our floor plan it might help with visuals...this is exactly what ours is:
The living room consists of the computer area, and the sitting/tv area. it's messy, and the pictures are pretty dark and crappy, but it's the best i have to offer! we plan to mount the TV above the fireplace, it just hasn't happened yet, so its just sitting awkwardly infront of it until we get it done. my shelves are a work in progress...we are using them for storage as well as decor, and Connor's toys and books belong there too. decorating and arranging is not a strong suit of mine, so i've given up for now and letting it sit as it is until i decide to get motivated again.
I am loving the hardwood floors, and the fact that i don't have to worry about what Connor is throwing his dinner onto and staining! i'll never understand why so many apartments put white carpet in dining rooms!!! it is also nice to have the porch outside of there and so much light coming into the area. i need to finish hanging pictures and such, but it just hasn't happened yet, and i have no idea when it will.
I'm also enjoying the nice big kitchen! i would probably love it even more if i actually enjoyed cooking... but all the counter space and cupboard space is wonderful!
i took a picture of the hallway mainly because i love that the hardwood floors continue all the way to the bathrooms. i was quite excited about it!
Connor's bathroom has two doors that connect to the hall and to his bedroom. he thinks its SUPER cool, and loves to go in and out of them!
this isn't a very good picture of Connor's room, but his still has a few boxes, and has the baby stuff all over it that Caleb didn't want to put away just to get out again in another 9 weeks. Connor has been doing great sleeping in here now that he is used to it. and he loves his walk-in closet! he even got us stuck in there yesterday...i didn't appreciate it.
Our bathroom is nice too, and i love that it is directly across the hallway from Connor's so i can get ready and watch him in the tub at the same time!
i know that these are truly horrible pictures, and i'm sorry. we moved the rocking chair to our room so that it will be in there when our baby girl comes and we won't have to switch up Connor's routine right when he's trying to adjust to a sister. so far it's going great. our room has quite a bit of space, so it will probably be rearranged before the baby comes, so we can put her bassinet and changing table in more convenient places! i don't have a single picture hung up in here, but it will happen eventually. i'm loving the fact that the closet doors are mirrored so i can see head to toe what i look like. and our porch connects to the same one Connor's room does, so that is fun.
Last but not least, i have included a video walk-through of the place. i thought that might be nice since i've been trying to explain to my family, and i really don't think i've done a good job of it, haha!
So, that is our new place. we are very much enjoying it and are glad we chose it! it is still in our stake boundaries so we didn't have to go too far. i'm glad i didn't have to move too far away from my friends!
