It has been warming up here. It has technically been "warm" for quite a while, but it's steadily picking up the heat. I try to avoid going outside, especially in the afternoon, because it's just too stinking hot! Because of that, as much as i hate to say it, we haven't done anything too interesting. But i will share the pictures we do have!
In that first picture, you're probably wondering what the heck he is eating in that bowl, and why i would bother to take a picture of it. well, that is because it has a rather funny story attached to it. That is Caesar Salad dressing...and some croutons. My son loves Caesar salad. apparently he decided to get one all by himself, and got out the dressing, salad, and croutons. i'm assuming the dressing came out way too fast for him to control and ended up all in the bowl, because he emptied the entire practically brand-new bottle of it. he also added the majority of the croutons we had. i found him eating it in the living room when i came to tell him that he needed to sit at the table. i tried really hard not to growl at him for it, and even felt a bit proud of him when i saw that he tried to put everything away after he was done with it. he threw away the dressing bottle since he realized it was empty, and put the salad and croutons in the pantry. i promptly corrected that little mix up and put the salad in the fridge. i was still feeling proud of his independence right up until he dumped the entire bowl all over my couch. then i wasn't so darn happy!
I love to always dress Evelynn up, even if we aren't going anywhere. and it's pretty much a MUST for her to wear a headband! Her hair has started to thin out on the top of her head, and Caleb blames it on the headband wearing. I disagree though, since it's not really the places the band sits. i just think she looks too darn cute to give up the flowers!! at the nap of her neck her hair is about 2 inches long. the rest is about an inch. then theres the thinning out on the top. it's kind party in back, business in front. it's a bit hilarious, but we think she is adorable! Connor loves to give her kisses and always looks out for her.
There are two cute stories attached to these two pictures seen above. The first was last weekend. I had been feeding Evelynn in the living room and Caleb was in bed watching a show, and i had known that Connor went in to say goodnight to his Dad and was going to come back out to wait for me. When i finished with Evelynn's feeding i realized he hadn't come back, so i went in to our room to lay Evelynn down and get Connor. I was surprised to find that he wasn't in there! i told myself he must have just put himself to bed, but then he wasn't in his bed either, or his closet. That is when i started to panic big time! Caleb was about to get up and help me look for him when i realized i should check OUR closet first, and there he was. He had closed the door and was all wrapped up in the laundry fast asleep. i tried so hard not to laugh! Caleb picked him up and put him in his bed for me, and laughed at my panic attack.
The second picture is of Connor's new favorite habit of getting in the bath himself and only ditching his pants for it. it's no fun for me to have to pull him out soaking wet to finish undressing him, just to put him back in and mop up a mess! But he has done it multiple times before this one. He's a silly kid!
As a mentioned previously, it is usually pretty hot outside. Our adventures to the playground are rare, but they did happen again this week after our walk to the mailbox. It was only 9:30 am, but it was already past 80 degrees outside. yuck! Connor had fun on the playground and splashing in a puddle. unfortunately i had to put a stop to our outside playtime when he tried to drink from the puddle. yucky!!!
Evelynn LOVES her bath time. She doesn't cry at all or freak out when we get her wet. She just loves it! and Connor has started trying to help! he likes to dump water on her...i don't find it to be quite as helpful as he thinks it is! hehe!
occasionally i get ready for the day now days. i feel like a lazy person, but i just have other things to do. Yesterday while Connor was napping Evelynn helped me get ready! She just wanted to be held so she got to sit with me while i did some makeup. it made me super excited for fun girl days when she gets older!!!
The following pictures are just some cute little moments from yesterday. When she sleeps her headbands often fall down and it's so funny and cute! and she's such a daddy's girl lately.
This morning Connor came in to my room and wanted to snuggle with his sister. it was quite cute! then he threw a fit because he wanted to hold her on his lap ALL BY HIMSELF! the silly kid!
