A Week Without Daddy

We have had one long, boring week. But, on the plus side, we've had lots of snuggle-time, lounging around the house in pj's, and plenty of cute pictures!

If you can't tell...I think my kids are pretty cute!
As usual, Connor has demanded to hold his sister quite often. I think he has rather enjoyed getting to help Mommy with Evelynn. I also managed to capture Evelynn's sweet little smile on camera. She didn't appreciate the flash and would close her eyes or look away so it took a while for me to get!

We have been making yummy smoothies to eat for snacks this week.  Mommy has been trying to eat healthy and smoothies are an easy way to get Connor eating yummy things too! Obviously you can tell from the picture, it was a huge hit for both of us!

Connor has been falling asleep on the couches and floors a bunch this week! Every time, i laugh and then take a picture. Here are some cute ones:

This week i have also been dealing with a little 2 year old who has discovered that he has a mind of his own! He has wanted to choose his own outfits and has thrown a FIT when i try to help him choose. I have laughed quite a bit over the fact that he doesn't care for pants. If we aren't going anywhere i've just given in and let him run around that way; he usually undresses himself anyways. He has demanded that his shirts match the movie he watches. As a result, we have spent a good amount of time switching back and forth between Thomas the Train shirts, and Car's shirts. One of the times that made me laugh really hard was the day he chose TWO shirts, and couldn't choose between them, so he wanted both of them on. Of course, that was a day when he didn't want pants. I think he's kind of hilarious.

The kids have been pretty well behaved for me on most days. But, sometimes we have those days when we all are so exhausted that everyone is grouchy and misses Dad. Then we all can't wait til bedtime! Evelynn has enjoyed snuggling with Mom every night.

When Grandma Anderson came to visit last weekend she brought a cute new outfit for Evelynn! We just HAD to try it on her to see how cute she looked!

We went to the pool again this weekend. We had some wonderful friends come over and swim and both Connor and Evelynn seemed to enjoy cooling off in this hot, Arizona heat! Connor didn't want any pictures so i only got one of Evelynn.

Connor has been doing a GREAT job making messes around the house! I spent a good bit of time today scrubbing yogurt off my couch, icecream off my rug, and chocolate pudding off the carpet! I've decided that he needs to be monitored the entire time he's eating, no matter what. It turns out, i can't even change a diaper or go to the bathroom without him taking his food off the table and making a mess!!! As shown in the picture below, he also made a mess of his face! haha!

At church on Sunday Evelynn was soooo well behaved for me! She slept practically the entire time and got passed around in class. I gave another lesson and was a nervous wreck! I spent a lot of time planning it in  hopes i wouldn't be so nervous, but talking in front of people is just not a skill i have, no matter how much time goes into preparing for it. I'm telling myself it could have been worse, but it's over now so i shouldn't stress about it anymore. Connor on the other hand, was HORRIBLE for me during sacrament meeting. I had us sit in the foyer since i was pretty skeptical that he would behave. I was right; I was nearly in tears before the meeting was half over. Luckily, a nice sister in the ward saw my distress and asked if Connor wanted to play on her Ipad. I'm sure I probably looked like the horrible mother that couldn't control her kids!

i had tried to plan ahead on Sunday and had a bottle prepared for Evelynn in case she would need fed in class when i had people holding her. But, luckily for me, she just slept the entire time and didn't even need it. I didn't want to waste it so i gave it to her when we got home, and Connor wanted to help! It was really cute, so I just had to get a picture of it!

That was our week! we are eagerly awaiting Caleb's return on Saturday! we plan to get his Father's Day presents finished up this week and get the house all clean for him. I think it will keep us busy!!
