Playing Catch-Up

I have slacked off with updating my blog lately. i was pretty distracted with a little boy that hasn't been feeling the best. i probably should have taking him in to the doctor last week when i was suspecting an ear infection, but i didn't. i waited until this week when he threw up all over my feet and the kitchen. Caleb told me i really needed to take him in, even though vomiting isn't usually an ear infection symptom for him. Yesterday at the Pediatrician's office i was told that she was pretty sure the ear infection he has in his left ear was the cause. i can't wait to have a smiley little boy back again. he seems to be overcompensating how miserable he feels with acting incredibly ornery and screaming and shrieking a lot. i will admit that i am feeling pretty worn out.

Connor has been learning a lot of new words lately, and is still quite obsessed with his Car Movies. He now talks about Mater a lot, in the form of "May-Tah". his prounciation is the cutest! And he recently started yelling "our car!!!!" everytime Lightning McQueen comes on the screen. Our car is red, so we think that is the reason for the confusion, not Caleb's driving skills, haha! He still loves to help with his sister, and has gotten even more confidence in picking her up by himself. I am trying to teach him to always ask first and let me help him. He loves to give "squishy hugs" and snuggle. He tries to be gentle, but as many two year olds are, he doesn't know his own strength sometimes, and i don't want either of them getting hurt on accident!

Evelynn is now 2 months old, and growing wonderfully. she loves tummy time and does very well holding her head up. she hardly cries, and is becoming increasingly more and more smiley! She is trying very hard to giggle and has managed to just a few times. She will have her two-month check-up on Monday and we will find out how much she has grown!

Connor likes to play with "sissy" during her tummy time. I took some cute pictures to share.

Evelynn has outgrown a few of her headbands. They were my favorite ones, and the ones that best matched her outfits! i decided to devote a little bit of time this week into making a couple new ones.

In my last few blog entires i have devoted space to pictures of my sleeping cuties. this week is no different.

Connor "helped" me mop floors this week. i laughed quite a bit because he climbed on top of the table and chairs i had moved into the living room, and i had a flashback of me and Melinda playing on all the kitchen chairs when i was little while my mom was mopping floors.

Connor and i were watching a movie a couple days ago, and Connor decided his little car would be fun to climb on as he watched it (that car is NOT supposed to be in the house, but he has been so miserable lately i haven't put up a fight about it) .  i couldn't stop laughing when it flipped over! i jumped up to comfort him, but he didn't need comfort. his face was in awwww. he climbed right back on and did it again, on purpose this time, and acted like it was the coolest thing he had ever discovered!

Last Saturday my little girl turned two months old! She got to wear a couple outfits that day because she kept having blow-outs! I feel like time has been passing much too quickly!

Connor hasn't had much interest in pictures lately, and refuses to hold still to take them with me. due to that, i have had to take lots of pictures of Evelynn and me to console myself!

The next couple pictures are just of Connor and Evelynn snuggling!

As i was looking through my pictures i found a couple videos i took that i forgot to post! the first two were just small clips i sent to Caleb while he was at training. Connor is watching Car's in that one, so you can see his pure enthusiasm for that movie!!! The other two were from Father's Day morning.

Another exciting thing we did since our last blog entry, was that i was able to Skype with my family when my brother Michael opened his mission call! i recorded a video of it, but i have lost the little thing i need to get it off the memory card, so when i find it, i will get it posted! He has been called the the Tallahassee, Florida mission, and reports to the MTC October 16th. we are so proud of him and his decision to serve a mission!

We hope everyone is doing well!
