On Sunday the 2nd, Caleb had Family Day for his unit! As usual, it was the Christmas party, and Santa came! I was hopeful Connor would like him like he did last year, but this year he FLIPPED OUT! i'm sure you can tell from the picture that he didn't even want within a foot of him! He got lots of books, a Mr. Potato-head, AND a super-fun, big, red, bouncy ball! Connor didn't want anything to do with me while we were at the party, he just wanted Dad. He wouldn't even let Caleb get in line without taking him with. he always misses Daddy on drill weekends, and then wants to eat up every second he can with him when he sees him again! Oh, and i must add that they had some fun activities for the kids this year. They had bouncy houses, and Connor thought that it was THE COOLEST thing he had EVER seen!!! he was squealing and screaming and laughing his head off, and he was louder than all the other kids combined when he was playing on it! what a cute kid! :) He was soooo worn out after the party that he completely zonked out on the way home...he didn't even wake up when he took him inside and put him in his bed lolWe put up our Christmas lights on our porch later that evening, and Connor was sooooo excited to help! he'd been dragging the lights around all week waiting for Dad to have the time to help! Our apartment complex does a competition for the best decorated porch, so we decided to actually put some effort into it this year. our neighbor's lights all look awesome, so we don't have much hope for winning. but, it's fun to actually have them up, and Connor loves to look at all the lights! i think my hubby did a pretty nice job! :) our neighbors that lives across from us sat outside and helped us know if we were hanging them evenly and it was very helpful!
As soon as the holiday season hit, i was determined to get our shopping done (which i mentioned in the first paragraph, i have finished! yay!!!) For three days in a row i dragged Connor shopping for several hours, and the poor kid had to miss nap time :(. one day in particular we were at JoAnn's getting some supplies for my project for our families, and the poor little guy fell asleep so i layed him down in the shopping cart. it was cramped, but he didn't seem to care! i think he looked pretty adorable lol. i have been trying to take pictures every week of my baby bump for my family to see, too. this picture shown was at the 20 week mark!! :) half way is an exciting point to reach!
I also felt very accomplished last week, because i gave Connor a haircut! he's had a trim a few times before, but this was the first time he needed a full-on haircut! as you can see in this picture...
This weekend, on the 8th, we had our ward Christmas party! i was very excited to get to go as a family this year since Caleb's work schedule allows him to have Saturday evenings with us! Last year he worked nights so it wasn't possible. I even got all dressed up for it! We got to eat a yummy meal and hear the ward christmas band play songs, but we didn't make it to see Santa. There was a baptism going on during the same time, so we had to stay out of the halls so we wouldn't disrupt! we had been waiting in line, and were told Santa would return later. We did get a family picture taken though!!! It was so nice! they had a professional there taking pictures, and we got it the very next day. i think it turned out pretty cute! :) the party started at 6, and by 8 Caleb was ready to go home. He had been working all day until 5, so he was rightfully tired! Connor was running around like the wild-child he is, and i just didn't have the energy to chase him, so we headed home without seeing Santa. we figured it was alright though since he had seen Santa the week before!
This Sunday i wore a dress that made my baby bump look SUPER cute...so i just have to share a picture. and say that we have been soooo excited because we have finally picked out a name for our little girl! i had been very upset about not having a name yet, and felt a bit silly for it, but it all makes sense now. it took quite a special experience to pick it, but we know for sure that it is the name she is supposed to have! but, we aren't really sharing the name until she's born. :) it's a name i love, and i'll give a small hint to keep you guessing if you're family...it's a family name. i'm not even going to tell which side of the family it's from. and like i said, we chose it after a very special, and very personal experience, which is why we're not sharing. you will all just have to wait until April to hear it! but we do love you all. :) i'm going to say that it's beautiful, and we just love it! and we love to feel her kicks! she's quite active and it is so fun to get to share this time with Caleb! during our pregnancy with Connor, Caleb was busily packing up for his training about now, and didn't get to experience much more with me. I promised my Mom that i had some cute videos to share the next time i updated the blog, and here they are. :) They're just a few cute things Connor likes to do that really make us smile! I try to capture these little moments on film to share with certain Grandma's that are missing this little guy! he's just a stubborn one and often stops what he's doing what he's been caught! hehe :) in the first he's playing with Thomas and making train sounds! the second, he's riding his little bike. and the third, he's sitting and rolling around on his new red ball he got from Santa! he's even more hilarious than in this video...he likes to sit on it and fall off and laugh hysterically.
That's all we have to share for now! :) We will update again at Christmas, and will probably even do an entry for anyone who isn't gettting a card from us, that wanted one. we had to be choosey about who we sent them too this year since we have such large families! it gets a bit more expensive than we'd like when we send one to every single person we know or are related to! :)

Thanks for sharing your family with us. Love to you all.
