Post-4th of July Activities

On the 4th our lighter quite working and we could NOT get the matches to work, so we decided we would let Liam do his first sparkler the next night. He was so excited! I neglected to take pictures of the older kids because they had pictures on the 4th of playing with sparklers.

On the 7th Evelynn and I decided we thought her hair might be long enough for a princess crown braid... So, we gave it a try! In just another inch or so it will be the perfect length. For now, it barely reaches, so we decided to put a flower instead of completing the crown.

We attempted to take a picture for Daddy to see how cute out kiddos are... but they're pretty squirmy, so it was kinda a fail.

This little baby was quite unhappy and not wanting to sleep unless he was being held, which means a lot of sitting and holding of him. Good thing he's a cutie! After we ran errands and went to the gym Miss Evelynn decided to take her hair out. I can't remember why she wanted a picture, but I'm sure there was good reason.

The next day I had some errands to run and I decided to stop at Redbox and see what movies were there. We ended up renting Zootopia, which we hadn't seen yet. We all sat down and watched the movie that night. Well, the kids jumped on their dad, so he only wanted part of it before escaping. Overall, my kids thought it was pretty fun. Connor really liked it, I thought it was cute, but Evelynn said it scared her.

Sunday I was fighting a horrible headache AGAIN, and decided to take a little power nap before getting ready for church. The next thing I knew, I work up 3+ hrs later and church had already started. I ended up taking Evelynn with me and making it to Relief Society, but Evelynn refused to go to nursery, so I went ahead and brought her with me. End result was a massive tantrum... I wasn't too thrilled about it. I missed the last 10 mins of class trying to deal with it, and then had to buckle her into her car seat while she screamed. I felt it was too bad she looked so cute with her princess crown braid that day, because her attitude sure didn't match it!

I'm sure you can see the silent treament she attempted to give me. She was pretty angry. That's been a popular emotion lately from her....

When we got home, she was STILL kicking and screaming, and kept buckling herself back in and refusing to get out of the car. I finally left her and had Caleb get her. He was highly amused at her reaction to me, and asked what'd I'd done to make her so upset.

Luckily she did eventually forgive me. And asked me to make her a crown all her own like the one we were making baby brother. She was also quite willing to model it for a picture!

While I worked on dinner with Evelynn (she loves to help), the boys were making all sorts of mischief. Well... mostly Liam was. That "mischief" included throwing ALL my laundry I had folded out onto the dirty floor.... and climbing in the basket to play. :-( The kid was quite proud of himself, though.

On Tuesday night (the 12th), Caleb helped me take the kids to a park not too far away and let me take some pictures of the kiddos. As you can probably guess, Evelynn and Connor took several tries to get standing still, and I only managed a couple pictures. Liam was a bit easier, but a little clingy. We let the kids play at the playground for a bit after pictures.

I am posting pictures seperately, but I also grabbed a couple pictures of all 3 kiddos I'd like to share.
