November Activities

I will admit that most of our November was a blur of busyness as I juggled school and home-life, prepped for Thanksgiving in Idaho, and got the kids to their different activities. But we did manage some fun, "blog-worthy" things!

Although this one wasn't fun, i'd like to document the time this child beat himself up. Because it just may scar, and a whole month later, it's still there. So, little Liam, you did this to yourself on Nov 2nd, and your mommy cried (I was stressed, tired, and thought "thanks kid, now it looks like I'm beating you, too,!!!!!😭). And then someone pointed out how at least it's nice placement for a scar! So if it's still there years down the road, just think -- at least it's nice placement for a scar.

The 2nd was a Wednesday, which meant it was the day for daycare watching. This kid decided his favorite thing to do was to climb in the toy box. He was seriously proud of himself, too!

On the 5th, Caleb and I mailed in our votes. We decided it was more convenient to mail them in than to stand in line with three kids.

On the 6th, Liam decided to make friends with a sister in the ward. She had reached back to wave at him, and I guess he took that as an invitation. Next thing I knew he'd raced right over, climbed through the chairs to get to her row, and settled himself right in her lap. He didn't seem to be as much of a fan of her husband though. He was perfectly content and fell asleep there on her lap! Then he slept in her arms through Sunday School, and even went to Young Women's with her. I was highly amused by his boldness. Who can resist a cute baby in a suit, though?!

On the 8th we got to do something SO FUN! I got to volunteer at Connor's very first Kindergarten field trip at the Ogden Nature Center. Caleb had told us how he'd been there on a field trip when he was a little boy, so Connor was so excited to go see everything Daddy had seen!

Connor's class was getting to learn about the indigenous people of Utah.

The "teacher" that was leading Connor's group decided that we could take a quick trip back to see the Bald Eagle. I had been telling Connor that his daddy said there was a bald eagle when he'd visited years ago, so Connor was THRILLED about getting to see her!

At the end, I didn't get a picture of all the girls in the class, but this one of the boys had me laughing.

On the 10th when I was doing a meeting for a class, Liam came over to me needing help with a toy. I immediately helped him, being a little distracted, and did a double take as he walked away. I noticed his hair looked a little funny... then freaked out when I realized two chunks were missing! Caleb was home at the time it happened, so I was really upset it happened right behind his back, but was even more upset when I learned Evelynn had cut it.

Liam has been teething and dealing with colds off and on lately, and on this specific day, boy was he grouchy at me! He just wanted Dad, but unfortunately, dad wasn't there.

On the 14th, something seriously cute happened! Liam learned to blow kisses! You seriously should watch the video, too.

Connor has been working on his molars in the back, and he REALLY wanted to show Dad a picture.

On the 17th we had our first snowfall, but it was really just little frosting of it. It was enough to wear this little girl out though and have her sleeping between home and Kindergarten pickup.

Evelynn's dance studio (which, thank you to all the grandparents and friends who participated in her CocaCola fundraiser!!!) does this cute Thanskgiving challenge each year where you post a picture of you doing something dance related and say why you're thankful for dance. We had a difficult time coming up with the best thing to post.

In the end, we went with this one. But I can definitely say, we are thankful for dance in this home! Nothing brings a smile to her face like dance, and she's really overcoming her shyness because of it.

I don't think I've mentioned this, but shortly before Thanksigiving I started helping out some new neighbors on getting their 8 year old son to and from school. He hangs out for about an hour in the mornings, then I take him to school, then I take Connor to afternoon Kindergarten, then I pick them both up, and on Wednesdays he hangs out for a few hours until his older sister is home .

On the 22nd I had to kill some time after dropping Justin (the neighbor) off at school, and taking Evelynn to dance. We decided to bum Walmart and the kids had a blast trying out all the fun stuff. Haha!

You can read about our Thanksgiving in Idaho here.

On the 28th we woke up to A LOT of snow. And it kept coming down all day!
We sent Daddy a picture of the car to see how much there was when we left at 8 am to drop the neighbor off at school.

Connor remembered snow, and boy was he excited about it! Evelynn remembered it as well, but Liam didn't. Good thing we'd bought him a coat and gloves after the first "snow" earlier in the month! He was really curious about the snow and kept trying to eat it.

We decided to build a snowman, although Liam got grouchy as nap time neared. He quickly became less and less of a fan... 😂

After naptime the kids wanted to build a snowman family, so we did. And thankfully we took pictures, because not even 3 hours after we finished some jerk kicked them all over.

As November came to an end, we prepped ourselves for December. With the holidays and parties and family events and finals, it's always a super stressful time.
Luckily for this kid, stress isn't really a thing in his life. He gets to do whatever he wants, including play in toy boxes. Haha!
