Our Idaho Trip, Aug 17-24, (Sun, Mon, Tues, Wed, Thurs, Fri, Sat, Sun)
On Sunday the 17th it was Jessica's homecoming talk in church. Before church my mom and dad hosted a breakfast for family to attend, and after church there was a little lunch incase anyone needed to eat before going out of town. Jessica gave a wonderful talk on gifts of the spirit.
After church my mother-in-law brought by some delicious mint-green brownies, which Evelynn (and everyone else) devoured!
Most of us ate outside in the beautiful weather. Evelynn chose a lovely little seat in the back of a dump truck after stealing her brother's food. Doesn't she look pleased with herself? I assure you she really was pleased. She was not pleased, however, with the pigtails in her hair, and she decided to take one out by herself.
After eating the boys hung out and played a board game.
While the girls hug outside and chatted about life!
It was SUPER fun to have the three sisters reunited!
On Monday we went of to Caleb's dad's house for dinner again.
The kids thoroughly enjoyed the spaghetti and both of them had seconds!
On Tuesday the kids and I walked to the park with Melinda and the boys.
Shortly after we got there it started to rain, but it didn't stop the fun!
Later, Caleb showed the kids how cool my brother's old remote-control hummer is.
That evening my sisters went with our little family to take family pictures.
I had big plans for it, but I neglected to check the weather forcast. It started to rain, was cloudy, dreary, and the pictures did not exactly work as well as we would have liked.
On Wednesday I also got to help my sister-in-law Cami tie a quilt, and got to see my oldest and dearest of friends! We chatted for a while and it was a lot of fun!
Later that day we gave the pictures another try and it worked very well.
We went to dinner at Caleb's mom's house, and then we got to look at a couple houses with her.
The kids loved playing with toys over there!
That evening my sisters and I went and got Sno Cones to eat. We sat and chatted some more and had a blast! I didn't take a picture of that though.
On Thursday I took the kids over to play with their cousins in the afternoon.
Then I helped Cami finish tying her quilt before I was visited by another of my close friends.
This time I made sure to take a picture because, well, there was a cute baby involved.
I had to get my baby fix in!
We ended our evening by attending the Boise, Idaho LDS temple with my mom, sister and brother-in-law, and my younger sister.
As we left the temple, there was such a beautiful reflection of the sunset.
We decided that called for another round of pictures!
The guys decided they were hungry after that point, so we ended up going to Red Robin for dinner.
On Friday we went into Boise to visit Caleb's brother and sister-in-law.
We got to eat Pizza with them, and the kids had a wonderful time playing at their place!
Then they had the great idea of going up to Table Rock.
My kids LOVED it.
Connor especially loved it.
Uncle Parker took him climbing up the rocks and he had SO MUCH FUN.
We all ended up climbing up one rock for a nice picture!
I was a party-pooper and insisted that someone always keep a hold on the kids, because I didn't want them to fall. We all definitely had a blast though.
In the evening we all took it easy because we needed to start packing a bit as our trip neared an end.
I took some pictures of the kids having a blast in my parent's backyard.
Connor also helped Grandma West make cookies.
Evelynn didn't like wearing an apron, so big brother wore it instead.
On Saturday morning we were in for a surprise, and not the good kind.
Connor woke up at 5:30 AM throwing up. He had caught the nasty stomach flu that had been going around my family. Caleb was very sweet and offered to stay home and take care of Connor while I went to my cousin's wedding and luncheon.
While at the luncheon, Evelynn let Aunt Jessie hold her for nearly 10 minutes, and she let Aunt Melind hold her for a few minutes as well!
I HAD to take pictures to document.
When we came back to my parent's house I did some haircuts on two of my sister-in-laws, as well as trimmed up my younger sister's hair. Connor seemed to be feeling much better, so Caleb wanted to do one last fun activity with Mitchell while I went to my cousin's Reception with my sisters and my mom.My Mother-in-law was so sweet and watched the kids for me so that I could go and Caleb could go have some fun as well.
After we all returned back to my parent's house that evening we made sure to have all the grandparents and aunts and uncles say their goodbyes.
On Sunday morning we woke up at 4:30 and were on the way to the airport by 5 AM.
It was a bit of a hassle getting through security on the way back because Connor freaked out and had a melt-down, but once we got on the airplane it was smooth sailing.
Caleb grabbed breakfast for us all to share, and then both kids fell asleep.
We got into Phoenix just before 8 AM, and then got the shuttle back to where we had parked our car.
We loved every bit of our trip and are sad that it ended so quickly!!
