Our Idaho Trip, Part 1

Aug 8 - 11th, (Fri, Sat, Sun, Mon)

Friday was a busy, busy day for us as our vacation started. Caleb came home around 3 PM and we loaded up the car to leave by 5 PM. We had to drive to the place we would park our car for 2 weeks, then be shuttled to the airport.

Caleb got our boarding passes, checked our bag, and then we headed through security.
Connor was pretty confused about what was going on, but we got though security with no melt-downs, and only Caleb being stopped to get searched.

We got to our gate with 30 minutes to spare before boarding began, and Evelynn decided she should fall asleep.  I hoped she would sleep through the entire flight, but nope, she was wide awake right as boarding began.

It was Evelynn's very first time on an airplane, and Connor hadn't flown in nearly 2 years, so it was his first time flying with his very own boarding pass. Connor played quietly on the Tablet the entire flight, and Evelynn had a bit of a rougher flight and smacked her head into the side of the plane.
She was pretty sad, but about half way through she decided to sit on Daddy's lap and quickly fell asleep. She didn't wake up again AT ALL, despite being put in the stroller, the carseat, and then the crib. She was OUT FOR THE NIGHT.

We had arranged for my Mom to pick us up from the airport, but were pleasantly surprised to see more faces than just her's waiting for us!
My mom took a picture for us with Caleb's dad, brother, and sister in law.

The next morning we took it easy, slept in, and relaxed -- and I got confused by the time difference. I thought my phone automatically updated it, but it didn't, so I thought I still had an extra hour to get ready for the day,  which I didn't really have!
The kids loved the wooden train that they found at my Mom's house.

Next was breakfast at Caleb's mom's house.
The kids were so excited about the toys that were waiting for them. Don't they look pleased?!

Later that afternoon we headed over to Caleb's dad and step-mom's house. We had a BBQ and the kids got to play in the pool and even ride their 4-wheeler.

That evening my Sister's family came over and let the kids all play together! Cousin's are such a wonderful thing. I loved watching them all play together! The boys seemed to have a blast, and Evelynn even seemed to take an interest in Kayden and enjoyed climbing on the swings like he was doing. When the mosquito's came out we took the fun inside with legos and icecream!

On Sunday we had a busy day. We went to church with my MIL to hear my SIL play a piano solo in church, and then we went to my parent's ward as well.
We left there a little early and as we were walking outside I forgot that there was a step down, and I fell face first onto the cement. I had been carrying Evelynn so as soon as I realized I was falling, I made sure to catch my weight to my elbow to keep Evelynn from hitting the ground. Luckily I more scared her than anything else, and we were all fine aside from my scraped up and bleeding knees and elbow!
After that little adventure we got to go see a wonderful high school friend, meet her husband, and see her adorable prego belly! I wish I had taken a picture, but alas, I did not. But that doesn't change how wonderful it was to see her and catch up!!
My Dad and brother had been gone at a campout when we came into town, so we didn't really get to see them until this point. Evelynn was hilarious because any time I was in her line of sight, she would scream for me and not want anyone else... but if I wasn't around, she was totally fine.
My Dad took her outside and I saw them sitting on the swing outside and wanted a picture...but the second she saw me, it was GAME OVER.

Meanwhile, Big Brother spent his time on the slide with his cousin!

My kids absolutely loved the stairs at my parent's house. (we don't have stairs!)

Later that evening I got to see ANOTHER old friend of mine, and chat with her and her husband. It is crazy how quickly time passes and where life has taken everyone in the years since high school.

On Monday (the 11th), I got pedicures with my best friend from Cosmetology School, who happened to be in town the same time I was. Once again, I did not take a single picture. (What a slacker I was on this picture taking thing!!!)
I also did some hair for my mom, sister, dad and brother.
That evening we went to dinner at my MIL's house again. Don't they look cute, all ready to leave the house, demanding to wear sunglasses???

The kids had such a blast, once again.

Next post coming soon!
