Friday May 22nd
Friday came with a lot of busy things to get done, wedding prep & reception set-up to get started, and last minute wedding tasks to get done.
My older sister was going to take Bridal pictures of our little sis (the bride) and invited me to participate. We had both said that taking pictures before the wedding is something we wished we would have done, because there's so much distraction and stress going on during the actual wedding day. I guess Jessica trusts her big sisters' advice, because she decided it was something she would like to do. I had the responsibility (which I considered a very exciting one!) of beautifying the bride for pictures and her wedding day. We had come up with the style earlier in the week, but picture day was the practice run for wedding day.
On a separate note... didn't Melinda do a gorgeous job on documenting the getting ready process?! I have SUCH talented sisters!
Ignore the fact that she looks worried here... Mascara hadn't gone on yet. After it was all finished she loved the results. She had wanted a simple but beautiful look, and I think we achieved it.
My job of getting Jessica beautiful for the wedding went well on picture day, but my usefulness didn't end there. Some of you may know that I have a quiet little love of photography. I took a class in highschool that I very much enjoyed, but up until now, the only pictures I've ever actually taken were the ones of my kids. My older sister let me help out and take some pictures of our happy wedding couple during her shoot when I wasn't playing assistant and helping make sure dress and hair looked good.
I'm being brave and sharing them. So, without further ado, here's a couple pictures that I snapped of the happy couple:
