Hello, friends and family!
I have gotten behind in our blogging. I was so focused on getting our trip up that I neglected to post anything other than mother's day and the trip for the month of may, and haven't even posted June and it's already half way through the month!
I've decided it's important to remedy that little mistake, so here are your belated updates!
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
As many people know, my kiddos came down with yet another sick bug before our trip to Idaho. Evelynn was one seriously grouchy girl. I was hopeful that it was just a cold that would blow over, but she ended up having an ear infection in her left ear.
The weekend before our trip, Evelynn and I did a girl's day outing. I had to make sure we had everything we needed for the trip. While we were out, Evelynn decided that she wanted to spend her birthday money, and she wanted to spend it on clothes and accessories! I had no say in the matter. She picked her own stuff, and let me tell you, she's one opinionated little girl! She was thrilled about her purchases, which included: a queen elsa nightgown, a pretty dress, and sunglasses.
When we got home, she immediately wanted to wear her queen elsa nightgown. She calls it her elsa dress and I'm sure she would wear it to the store if I would let her!
As we were returning from the store, I tried to take a video of Evelynn. She was wearing her new sunglasses (with the tags still on them, so it looks kinda hilarious!) and belting out her favorite song til I got the camera on her.
Go ahead and click here (apparently the video was too big to insert, so I just made a shareable link for it instead) if you want to see/hear a little video of Evelynn singing to her favorite song. She puts up a fight about it, but makes sure to chime in with certain phrases. She wasn't so thrilled about having herself recorded!
Now, along with Evelynn being sick, our Connor got himself sick as well. And his was even worse! The poor kid caught a stomach flu over his last few days of school. He would only throw up once and we would think it had blown over after 24+ hours of nothing...and then it would strike again. The worst of it was when he puked in the elevator and again right outside his doctor's office (and my feet) when I was taking him and his sister in to be seen. That was just a few days before out trip. He was miserable, and his doc prescribed him anti-nausea meds so that we could get him to atleast drink some water. He was refusing anything, and would just let his popsicles melt. The meds seemed to help him atleast be able to get fluids in him, and we were grateful he didn't get sick on the plane to Idaho!
I went to a relief society activity right before we left on our trip and left the kids with their daddy. I had barely been gone when Caleb sends me this picture of Evelynn asleep on the couch. I had tried all day to get that sick little girl to take a nap, but she would wake up and the slightest movement and only wanted to sleep in my arms. It made for an exhausting day for me. I guess daddy has the magic touch or something though! Because she was OUT like a rock!

After we returned home from our trip, we tried to settle back into normal life. We had to start making some decisions about the coming months and where we are going to live. We are currently in a little 2 bedroom, but with a new baby coming in 4ish weeks, we could really use some extra space. Moving is always stressful, but we are wanting to do whats best for our family, and having sufficient space is something for us to consider. While we weigh our options, I've started getting some packing done with the lesser used items that can easily be packed ahead of time.
I don't like to count my chickens before they are hatched, so I won't go into details with the options we are weighing right now, but I'll atleast tell you this: keep us in your prayers! We have some exciting options, but nothing is set in stone yet. We are hoping things go a certain way, but it's not really in our control at this point. We will definitely keep everyone updated on if it works out though!
We had my (almost) 34 week appointment shortly after our return. We had some time to kill after taking daddy to work and before the appointment, so the kids and I hit the park and library. It's definitely been heating up here, so the playground is short lived, but still enjoyed. The kids have been desperate for friends to play with every since our return. Everywhere we go, Connor asks, "should we find friends, mommy?!" He loves his sister, but he's finally learned that friends are an exciting thing and he wants everyone he meets to be his friends.
Caleb and I had bought Connor hotwheels track for his birthday that we gave after our return home. Connor has had so much fun playing with it and daddy! Caleb helps him set up big tracks and the kids get so excited about it.
These next videos are actually from a different day, but I figure they go well with the pics. Please excuse my messy house! Evelynn came down sick again after our return from Idaho and it was really distracting for me. They were so needy and whiney and it was impossible to keep up with the cleaning. I prioritized by giving them all the snuggles they wanted rather than clean.
And here is another link to another video, because this one is also too long for the blog. click me!
We took the kids to the pool for the first time this year on the last day of May. I was having a lot of pregnancy discomforts and being in the water helped ease it. The kids were thrilled to swim and had a blast!
It wore Evelynn out pretty bad. She fell asleep before I could even get her in the tub!
