May started off with a bang. It was another QUITE busy month for us.
On the 7th we went to a baby blessing for my cousin's youngest daughter down in Orem. We should have realized it would be in Portuguese (her husband is from Brazil), but it didn't occur to us until we got there. Connor was really stressed out by not being able to understand it and thought it was "too loud" so we had to take all the kiddos to the foyer so they didn't disrupt anyone.
The very next day Connor had a Kindergarten fieldtrip at the Hogle Zoo in Salt Lake. I went with him, but luckily there were so many parents who volunteered that I was only in charge of Connor. Caleb and the other two kids met up with us and we got to all hang out there at the zoo! I had never been to the Hogle Zoo (and Caleb hadn't been since he was little), so it was a first for almost all of us. You can read more about it here (because there's A LOT of pictures!)
The next day was a Tuesday, which meant a dance day. I went looking for miss Evelynn, only to find her getting ready and putting lipgloss on. I rolled my eyes. Can you say girly-girl?!
I'm pretty sure we had a playdate on May 11th. We were shown this great playground just minutes from us that I'd never known about. We've taken two different people to it since then. It's great!... and it wore out that baby boy of mine. ;-)
On the 13th Connor had a soccer game. Don't ask me what he was doing in the pictures. Sometimes we just thank him for actually enjoying a pictures rather than screaming like we're torturing him. ;-)
After the soccer game (the last one of the season!) we headed to lunch and Boondocks to celebrate our soon-to-be 6 year old!
We had to stop by home for weather related reasons and chance, and brother was worn out, and sis was waiting rather impatiently to go get food.
We went to Applebee's for lunch.
We've been trying to gift experiences rather than toys, and he chose to do Boondocks (then got to spend the birthday money he got from grandparents). Connor was big enough to do most of the activities, the other two were not. There were a couple Evelynn could do, but practically nothing Liam could. He wasn't so happy about that.
We started off with mini-golfing (since we knew he could do THAT)
We had forgotten the carrier so Caleb decided to let Liam ride his shoulders. Isn't he a nice daddy?
After a bathroom break, the kiddos grabbed pictures with the boondocks background.
Next, Daddy took the big kids on the bumper boats.
Liam was NOT pleased.
After they finished, I took the younger two inside where they could play.
And Connor got to go on a gokart with Dad.
After they joined us, the kids went on a little merry-go-round ride.
And we did some roller-ball (mini bowling). There were some issues with their lanes though so it was short-lived.
Connor wanted to spend some time in the arcade while Dad took Evelynn on a gokart, and found himself a mario game (which he rocked!)
After we met up with Evelynn and Daddy, there was some more arcades, another bumper boat ride (this time with Mom, but no pics), and then we headed on home after hours of fun!
The next day was mother's day, and i was dealing with a sickie. Liam had a 102* fever and started wheezing, which broke my mommy heart!
My sweet oldest child gave me an adorable card, though! And he let his siblings hold it and take pictures with it.
I sure love these sweeties I get to call mine!
The 16th brought Evelynn's last day of dance for the season.
She was so proud of the "goodies" she got!
On the 17th, my oldest baby turned 6 years old!
Since we'd already done our celebrating activities, he got to open presents and cards and blow out his birthday cake.
The next day was Evelynn's dance recital! We will share the details on another post you can find here.
On the 19th Connor had his 6-year well-visit. The good news is that he's all healthy. And still skinny as heck! (we can thank genes and picky-eating for that one).
On Sautrday we headed down to Olivia's dance recital in American Fork.
Evelynn was so excited to go watch her dance since she'd come to watch Evelynn dance!
Growing up, my cousin and I have so many memories together! I was so glad when we both had daughters close in age. It was just meant to be!
After the recital my cousin's family took us the the Provo Rec Center. We'd heard it was a super cool place, and man did we hear right! The kids had a blast.
Now, these slides you're about to see are super cool... the wind around through the wall and you can see people go down from the parking lot outside. And my kids were brave enough to go down them! I went down once as well. Our whole family did except Liam and we loved it!
The kids were exhausted and hungry by that point so we headed home, but we had such a wonderful time!
On Monday (the 22nd) Grandma West came into town for Connor's Kindergarten Graduation. You can read about the end of Kindergarten here!
Ever since moving to Utah and being near Caleb's hometown, we like to visit his grandparents' graves on memorial day weekend.
On the 27th we went on bought flowers and took our usual visits.
We had quite a laugh upon the arrival of the first graves. Connor solemnly and matter-of-factly announced, "When you die....you turn into a Zombie". Yeah, we had a talk about what happens after someone dies after that one lol
That evening we went to the wedding reception of one of Caleb's cousins, Oaklee.
Late that night our Connor boy woke up puking... and that was the start of the sickies in our home.
Evelynn came down soon after, although Connor quickly recovered.
We had a full 24 hours of nothing after Sunday, so we decided to go ahead and celebrate memorial day by going to Toadz for mini-golfing.
However, our celbrating was a bit earlier than would have been desired... on the 30th, Connor got sick again. No sooner had I cleaned up one mess, than Liam climbed up and sat with me and got sick all over me and the chair. Our family was SICK!.
Evelynn came down with is (again) that night. a
And then on the 31st, we ended the month of May and welcomed June with me sicker than I've been in ages.
